Treatment of nail fungus with celandine

Nail fungus is a fairly common disease, which at the initial stage does not create any particular problems for a person. However, with a long-term development of the pathology, the waste products of the pathogenic microflora can cause severe intoxication of the body. In the treatment of the disease, many fairly effective remedies are used, among which celandine from toenail fungus stands out.

Properties of celandine

Celandine is a poisonous plant that releases orange juice when the stem is broken. In folk medicine, the herb is used to treat many diseases and is part of various remedies. In view of the fact that the plant is considered poisonous, a logical question arises: is it possible to treat nail fungus with celandine?

The herb does not have a negative effect on the body in cases where the prescribed dosage is observed in the preparation of the medicinal composition. Using celandine against nail fungus, you can quickly suppress the development of pathogenic microflora. This is due to the fact that the composition of the plant includes the following components:

  • mineral salts;
  • alkaloids that suppress the inflammatory process;
  • vitamins that restore local immunity;
  • essential oils;
  • antibiotics;
  • organic acids;
  • flavonoids.

By treating nail fungus with celandine, it is fashionable to achieve the following results:

  • destroy fungal spores;
  • soften the affected areas of the skin;
  • relieve inflammation;
  • eliminate itching and pain;
  • accelerate the healing of open wounds.

Mountain celandine is considered the most effective remedy. However, to cure nail fungus, you can use a plant collected in other territories. In the treatment of the disease it is used in the form of:

  • alcoholic tincture;
  • bathrooms;
  • compress;
  • decoction;
  • oils.

The choice of treatment method mainly depends on the patient's preferences. Either way, you can get the same result.

Juice

With nail fungus, you can use celandine juice. Before each treatment session, the following steps should be performed regularly:

  • steam your fingers in hot water;
  • remove the fungal infection on the nail plate using a pumice stone or other remedy.

To prepare the juice, it is necessary to scroll all parts of the plant through a meat grinder: leaves, stem, flowers. The resulting dough should be well squeezed. Liquid celandine can be mixed with 70% alcohol in a ratio of 1: 1 (the agent is infused further during the day) or used separately.

The resulting solution is applied to the affected areas of the nail plate 1-2 times a day. The treatment with the juice of the plant lasts at least three months and ends after the complete restoration of the damaged parts of the fingers.

In the warm season, it is recommended to use freshly cut celandine juice. Before applying the remedy on the affected nail, it should be treated with hydrogen peroxide.

Butter

The recipe for making foot mushroom oil includes the following components:

  • 1 liter glass jar with lid;
  • 50 grams of freshly cut celandine;
  • 100-150 ml of sunflower oil, preheated in a water bath or olive oil.

Celandine oil from nail fungus is composed as follows:

  1. The plant is pre-washed under running water. After that, it must be spread out on a tray and wait until the grass is completely dry.
  2. Celandine is placed in a glass jar.
  3. The plant is compacted and poured over with cooked oil.
  4. The bank is located in a place inaccessible to sunlight. The remedy is infused for a month.
  5. At the end of the allotted time, it is necessary to pass the resulting oil through gauze.

If desired, the remedy can be mixed with lemon juice in the proportion of 1-2 drops of the latter with two tablespoons of the former. These components soften the plate, making it easier to remove the affected part. The treatment of nail fungus with celandine oil ends after the nail has recovered.

To soften the dish, you can also use a combination of this tool with 3% vinegar. The proportions in this case are similar to those used when using lemon juice. Obtained from the combination of celandine oil and vinegar, the agent is applied to the affected areas in the form of a compress.

Infusions and decoctions

Alcoholic tincture based on celandine is made from a freshly cut plant. The grass must be pre-washed and dried from moisture. Subsequently, the plant is mixed with vodka in a ratio of 2: 1. The tincture is aged for 12 days. Other recipes use a combination of 250ml of 70% alcohol and 20 drops of celandine oil. The composition is infused for no more than a day.

It is recommended to use the tool with extreme caution, as it has a number of contraindications. Initially, you can apply no more than 5 drops of alcohol tincture to the damaged area of the nail plate. In the future, the dosage of the drug will gradually be increased to 20 drops. The duration of treatment should not exceed two weeks.

To make a decoction, you will also need washed and dried stems and leaves of the plant. All ingredients are poured into a container and poured with boiling water so that the water completely covers the celandine. After that, the pan or jar is wrapped with a thick cloth and placed in a dark place. The broth should be infused for five days, after which the product should be filtered through gauze.

To increase the effectiveness of the drug, it is recommended to mix it with olive or vegetable oil in a ratio of 1: 1. This remedy is applied 2-3 times a day and the treatment lasts about two weeks.

To make another decoction you will also need fresh celandine leaves and stems, previously dried. 5 tablespoons of the plant need to be mixed with 6 water mills. The composition is then put on fire and boiled for several minutes. At the end of the last phase, the product is diluted with cold water, bringing it to room temperature. The decoction is applied to the affected areas of the nails and aged for 30 minutes. This method of treatment is supplemented with antifungal ointments.

Tablets

Therapeutic compresses obtained from celandine are used mainly in the later stages of the disease, when the fungus has affected the deep structures of the nail plate. This tool softens the affected area, thanks to which the therapeutic components easily penetrate deep.

A product obtained from the mixture of iodinol and pre-crushed dry celandine is used for the compress. The product thus obtained is applied in small quantities to the damaged nail plate and covered with cellophane. The compress must be kept for more than 20 minutes. At the end of the procedure, it is not recommended to wet the fingers for 3-4 hours.

After the compress, it is recommended to treat the damaged nail plate with antifungal ointment. To achieve the best effect, it is recommended to carry out the procedure before going to bed.

Trays

Baths are mainly used to prevent the development of a fungal infection. To prepare them, you need to perform the following steps:

  • prepare 5 tablespoons of dried celandine and pour 1. 5 liters of boiling water over it;
  • the composition is again placed on the fire and boiled for 5 minutes;
  • the product must be diluted with cold water.

The duration of each session with the use of therapeutic baths does not exceed 20 minutes.

In the treatment of pathology, a drug based on alkali of the fungus has often been used recently. This tool is sold in many pharmacies and is used to remove various skin defects, including papillomas and calluses. The plant itself is not included in the composition of the product. The drug is mainly used as an additional agent in the treatment of fungi. He is able to stop the development of the inflammatory process and partially relieve itching.
